Welcome to Delane Rouse Photography. Based out of Washington DC, we service clients around the world. Most importantly, our goal is to exceed our clients expectations one image at a time, consistently produce outstanding images and create satisfied clients for life.
When I'm not creating images you'll find me playing my guitar, cycling the roads of Southern Maryland on my Fuji road bike or playing competitive racquetball. I'm not exceptional at any of these actives but they all relax me and in some way or another allow me to unwind and ultimately keep me eager to get back behind my camera.
When considering Delane Rouse Photography, we're honest and open in telling you that we're not built like your local Wal-Mart, Target or JC Penny's, and we don't hire college kids like those at Lifetouch that photograph your kids at school. We're about quality images, for business or for family.
We're passionate about what we do and we think it shows before, during and after our assignment. We won't be outworked and that benefits you greatly when we're creating our imagery. We'll rarely be the cheapest or lowest quote, but we will continue to provide the HIGHEST QUALITY and FANTASTIC SERVICE, before and after the job.
My college buddy, Jermaine Pitt, married his sweetheart on May 15th in Anderson, SC in a lovely outdoor ceremony. We had a great time and as soon as the bride arrived at the location with her beauty pageant smile I knew I was in for a great shoot!!!

We were hired to provide photographic coverage of the retirement party for 1SG Veronica Kelly over the weekend. This was such a great event. Veronica was the brain-child behind all the design and decoration and I was totally amazed when she told me that she was not a professional event planner -SHE SHOULD BE!!! She covered ALL of the details, from really cute “Save the Dates” to the chair backs to some AWESOME meatballs!!!

Last week we worked with the Colbert Family to produce a few images for a 75th Birthday Party. Once we completed the large/full group we broke off to capture this image that shows 3 generations. I love photographing groups, especially when they are this easy to work with.

Blake Griffin definitely exceeded expectations in his initial college season, going from borderline McDonald’s All-American to one of the top freshmen in the NCAA in a very short span, reaching the point that it was a bit of a surprise that he even decided to return for his sophomore campaign. Very few could have faulted him if he did actually, as it’s widely accepted that he would have been a top-10 pick (possibly even top-5) had he decided to come out. Considering the repeated knee problems that he suffered from as a freshman, the jury is still out on whether or not he made the right call as far as his long-term future is concerned.

Wrestling is one of my favorite sports to shoot, primarily because the backgrounds are typically so pleasing. It's amazing how the "simple" things make a big difference in the final image.

As I was editing yesterday I can across this image from the Westlake Wrestling shoot that we did a few weeks ago. In addition to the standard team picture this squad also does what they call a “Muscle Man” pose…I like it.

Our friend, Craig Mitchelldyer, was featured on the International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers website this month and a couple of images from our wedding were displayed prominently in the article.

Rocco celebrated his 30th Birthday a few week early with a surprise party in North Bethesda, MD. Not to be outdone, Cleo threw a Madri Gras themed party that had everyone thinking she moonlights as a professional event planner! Family Feud, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, beads, Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday”, Jello-Shots, and authentic food!!!
We can’t wit until Rocco turns 31!!!
